Under the heading ‘Getting into the music’ Ny Musik invites for a musical rendezvous in Aalborg on October 6 to 8. Musicians and composers from Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands, Iceland and Denmark meet with local MGK-students and fills the days with concerts, premieres and new music.
Ny Musik has invited five internationally renowned musicians to participate in the project; percussionist Juanjo Guillem (Spain), clarinetist Anna Klett (Faroe Islands / Denmark) and Danish Trio ZOOM alias Stefan Baur, saxophone, Tanja Zapolski, piano and Ying-Hsueh Chen, percussion.
The composers behind the new works are Andys Skortis (Netherlands), Enrique Mendoza (Mexico), Simon Christensen (DK), Louis Aguirre (DK), Gunnar Karel Masson (Island), Jens Peter Moller (DK) and Eirik Moland (DK) all of which will be present in the project day and take part in the rehearsals and concerts.
Composers Jens Peter Møller, Gunnar Karel Masson and Eirik Moland, have each written a new work where 3-4 MGK-students from Kulturskolen interact with professional musicians. The new works rehearsed and premiered in project days in the respective programs. In addition, rehearses and performs other MGK students music by Matthew Frandsen and Louis Aguirre.
